BEN again played a starring role as Redcar Bears stepped up their bid to end the season on a high note.
He even survived an early scare to score 14 (paid 15) points as the NEBT/Simpson Racing UK Bears came from behind to win 52-41 at South Tees Motorsports Park.
Their hopes of a fourth straight win were looking decidedly dodgy early on as the fast-gating Rockets blasted into a six-point lead.
There was even the alarming sight of bionic Ben taking a ride in the ambulance after Linus Sundstrom reared alarmingly in heat six and took him out as he went down.
Fortunately the in-form Yorkshire terrier - already defying a broken heel to take his place in the side - showed no effects of the fall and went on to notch paid 15 points.
Proctor and Stuart Swales - who again showed he’d lost none of his guts and determination during his break from the sport - teamed up for a 5-1 in heat eight to edge the Bears in front for the first time.
On a night when the higher reaches of the STMP banking saw regular use, Swales repelled a robust challenge from Andrew Silver with an equally determined defence of his line to record his second paid win of the night - and that was the spark for his side to take control.
Luke Bowen snatched double points for his win in black and white in heat 14 but by then there was never any serious danger of the visitors snatching anything from the match, and the dynamic duo of Proctor and Wilson duly wrapped things up with a 4-2.
The Bears now have a busy weekend ahead with trips to Workington tomorrow and Glasgow on Sunday.
