BEN overcame illness to help Redcar Bears win the first leg of their Tweed-Tees Trophy clash against Berwick 48-42 at Southy Tees Motorsports Park.
Ben uncharacteristically failed to register a win as the NEBT/Simpson Racing UK Bears continued their recent trend of clawing back an early deficit to win.
But manager Brian Havelock revealed: "Ben’s been feeling under the weather.
"He said he didn’t feel right and that his head was all muggy so hopefully he’ll be right again very soon."
BEARS: Ty Proctor 11, Chris Kerr 10+3, Carl Stonehewer 7+2, Stuart Swales 7, Ben Wilson 6+1, Robbie Kessler 5+1, Arlo Bugeja 2.
